Tandem

A tandem partnership is a symbiotic relationship, where each language partner offers to help the other in one target language, and to be helped their own target language. The partners choose a regular time to meet weekly and split their time between their two chosen languages. For example, tandem partners may choose to meet Mondays at 10:00 and converse in thirty minutes for the first target language, and thirty minutes for the second target language. Partners don’t need to be native speakers of the other partner’s target language, they just need to be fluent.

This is a Middlebury-only program (alums and faculty can also participate). The goal is for students to be able to practice their target languages in a relaxed environment with other Middlebury students.

Sign into the spreadsheet with your Middlebury email and try it out! Remember to properly color-coordinate your language pair.
